Site Description | The UU Church of Minnetonka (UUCM) is a mid-size congregation founded in 1961 in the western suburbs of Minneapolis. UUCM has much to offer an intern, including an experienced Minister, a talented staff, and a supportive community of members, friends, and dedicated volunteers. As a welcoming, multi-generational congregation with a commitment to social justice, UUCM’s membership and financial support has grown since the pandemic by offering a wide range of hybrid programming for worship, RE, social justice, and congregational events. In its 5th year of Developmental Ministry, UUCM is living more deeply and collaboratively into its goals of welcoming, sharing, and engaging the talents and mission of its members and community partners.
Job Description | The intern would be an active member of the staff team, led by the Minister, and participate regularly in the meetings of the Board (policy/long range planning) and Council (ministries/program) respectively. The intern would have a regular role in worship and preaching, and the opportunity to work with a variety of Worship Associates in creating theme-based worship. Other opportunities would be guided by the intern’s specific learning goals and needs, but could include close work with any of the following areas: adult religious education, the care team, children and youth religious education, facilities, finance, long-range and capital campaign planning, membership, social justice (including racial, climate, housing, and healthcare subteams), and the worship arts ministry.
