Site Description | We are a regional congregation of 525 members and contributing friends, including children and youth. We have total attendance of 200-300 at Sunday morning services. We are an active and engaged congregation with over 30 programs and groups. Our Mission Statement is: “We come together to deepen our lives and be a force for healing in the world.” We strive to be engaged in our community: social justice (particularly in response to homelessness) and racial justice are focus areas in our strategic plan. The congregation adopted the 8th Principle in spring of 2021 and is committed understanding our role in dismantling white supremacy culture. UUSS was founded in 1868. Located near the Sacramento city limits, Sacramento State University and the American River, we have 6 acres with oak trees and great outdoor spaces. Sacramento is the capital of California, and is located halfway between the mountains and the ocean. The congregation reflects a variety of religious and philosophical perspectives. Please read more about our congregation at www.uuss.org. | |
