Site Description | The Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder (UUCB) is a robust, engaged congregation of 250 people in Boulder, Colorado. We have a long history in the Boulder area, tracing our roots to the 1880s. For the past four years, we have had an undocumented immigrant and her three children living in sanctuary in the church building. Prior to Covid, UUCB had about 30 children participate in a growing religious education programs under the leadership of assistant minister the Rev. Dana Lightsey, with an average of 20-25 children and youth in attendance each Sunday. A full-time office administrator, and half-time Director of Music complete our staff team. In 2022-23, we will complete a capital campaign feasibility study to understand what options we have for our unique but aging building, and what the congregational needs are. The expectation is that a capital campaign will follow in 2023-24. These years will also focus on discernment and strategic planning for next steps as a congregation.
Job Description | The intern is a full member of a ministry and staff team that guides the ministry of the congregation. The intern is regularly part of worship, and preaches and leads worship services monthly. We aim for a well-rounded experience across multiple areas of church life tailored to the needs and interests of the intern, and will develop the full job description based on the learning-serving agreement. The Intern is expected to engage in weekly theological and ministerial reflection with their supervisor and other members of the Leadership Team, as well as meet regularly with the Internship Committee.
