Site Description	UU of SCV is a small 20-year old UU congregation in Santa Clarita, California, which is in Los Angeles County. The Santa Clarita Valley is composed of suburban and rural areas; it is not far from the city of Los Angeles, but has a community identity of its own. UU of SCV is a local beacon for LGBTQ rights, water/environmental causes, housing issues, and other social justice issues at the heart of the broader community. Members have active social and cause-focused groups. UU of SCV created its own holiday, Luminescence, which is a rich annual liturgical event. A vibrant music ministry is a hallmark of this congregation.
Job Description	This Internship will provide all the opportunities the MFC requires for an internship to meet their requirements. Observe, learn and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of small congregational ministry, including worship leadership, preaching, pastoral care, leadership development, membership, social justice organizing, governance, stewardship, and ministry to/with families. Opportunity to lead worship 1-2 Sundays per month. Spring project, designed by intern minister with support of their committee and supervisor, focuses on outreach and social justice. At present, UU of SCV does not own property or have its own 24/7 physical location. If interested in growth, outreach and "newer" congregational ministry, intern would be able to participate in related dialogue/projects with leaders.
