| Site Description | UUCO is an extremely dynamic church that is eager to have its very first intern. Three years ago, when the church had only 80 members, they purchased a building with a sanctuary that seats 300. We are in the downtown area of a small city in a low income neighborhood with numerous immigrants and are attracting an increasingly diverse membership. Opportunities for social action and public witness abound in this conservative state. The cost of living is low, there are extraordinarily beautiful mountains with hiking, biking, and skiing only minutes away. Almost all internships are in larger congregations, but most interns end up serving smaller churches in their first settlement. As a small church that is vibrant, healthy and growing we offer an experience that is both practical and inspirational. There is a large UU congregation 45 minutes away in Salt lake City and several smaller fellowships within a couple of hour’s drive that would be eager to have an intern in their pulpit. There are also frequent requests for both weddings and memorial services from local residents who have no church affiliation. | |
| Job Description | Perform all normal ministerial functions, including leading worship approximately once a month, assisting in religious education for all ages, providing pastoral care, rites of passage, church governance and administration. | |
