| Site Description | UUSM is a mid-sized congregation actively seeking to grow in healthy ways. We offer two worship services on Sundays, with an average attendance of more than 200. Our Religious Education program for children is always attracting new families. We are entering our fifth year of policy-based governance and all that such a transition entails. UUSM offers a wonderful setting for students of ministry interested in observing congregational systems. | |
| Job Description | UUSM is very proud of being a teaching congregation, and enjoys learning with and from ministerial interns. Rev. Vail Weller, the Intern Committee, and the congregation are fully committed to providing an environment for learning and growth that is both challenging and supportive. In this setting, you will gain practical experience planning and leading worship, working with committees and volunteers, offering leadership development, pastoral care, rites of passage, lifespan Religious Education, as well as administration and finance. There is no shortage of ministry work to be done; the main thing is for this to be a setting in which you can experience yourself as minister and refine your particular gifts and talents. You will be expected to meet weekly for theological reflection with the Lead Minister, to meet monthly with the Internship Committee, and to engage in spiritual direction. We seek an Intern with a rich devotional life. | |
